     Lin Jui-ming, whose penname is Lin Fan, was born in 1950 at Tai-nan and graduated from National Taiwan University with an M.A. in history. He is now teaching at Ch'eng-kung University. His publications include collected poems Shih-lo te hai (A Sea Lost) and Liu-chuan (Vagrancy), a biography, Yang K'uei hua-hsiang (A Portrait of Yang K'uei), and critical studies Wan-Ch'ing ch'ien-tse hsiao-shuo te li-shih i-i (The Historical Significance of the Condemnatory Fiction of the Late Ch'ing Period) and Lai Ho te wen-hsueh yu she-hui yun-tung chih yen-chiu (A Study of Lai Ho's Literature and His Social Movement).
